Bomber (Simon) has built a BoF Spitfire from scratch within the latest version of Blender. Here are some examples.

Texture size will be 2048 x 1024 and .png in format. Below is the Spitfire example:

The T4T mod will start here, with this framework to texture objects. Any 2d artist want to weigh in??

Resurrecting the Texture and Gauge work...

I always liked how this was coming together. Turnipkiller's gauge handy work and expertise will be an asset to T4T. We started discussions around this in the T4TWiki under B-17 development. Some of these gauges are/will be cross platform!

Attention model builders, MeKGP's working on getting a huge library of 3-view/multi-view airplane and helicopter draftings (approximately 1600 views) like the example below. You are welcome to use them as a starting point for building content for the Simulab engine and/or Target4today. Watch in the next few weeks for that library to be linked in our "Library and Downloads" and "Links of Interest" menus on the left of the page! If you have others that could be added, let us know.

Paul sent us a screenshot of the latest advancements and modifications he's worked on.

Updating the tile in real-time and viewing tiles in different dimensions is now available.

The next release will be even more powerful then the Terra release!

On the Target4Today side, flight modeling research is ongoing.

Have you ever wondered how flight "worked"? Ever want to examine the FM data you see? Simon has been using this applet to compare numbers with interesting results. All of the discussion for T4T's flight modeling is on the T4T forums.

With this software you can investigate how an aircraft wing produces lift and drag by changing the values of different factors that affect lift and the factors that affect drag. FoilSim III is the latest (July 2010) version of the FoilSim family of interactive simulations. The different versions of FoilSim require different levels of knowledge of aerodynamics, experience with the package, and familiarty with computer technology. This web page contains the on-line student version of the FoilSim III program. It includes an on-line user's manual which describes the various options available in the program and includes hyperlinks to pages in the Beginner's Guide to Aerodynamics describing the math and science of airfoils. More experienced users can select a version of the program which does not include these instructions and loads faster on your computer.

This is the Lift co-efficient of the Spit wing to alpha as produced by the DATCOM app

Now to my eye there's something not right here...at +45 degree Angle of Attack (AoA) any wing, including a barn door should be generating maximum lift soley on the force of wind hitting its expossed surface(ram wind)
Understanding that it's not usefull lift as it's also generating maximum drag, but the lift should be there..

Looking at the graph we can see how the wing generates usefull lift thanks to it's camber + ram wind upto 16 degrees, at this point the camber fails to generate the air pressure differential between the top and bottom sides of the wing and the usefull lift stalls out, all very complicated at this point but lets just say there's now a downward force acting on the top of the wing surface thanks to turbulance rolling over the wing surface and this cancels out the ram wind so the lift of the wing falls off...Then as the Angle of Attack increases this turbulance no longer acts on the wings top surface and ram wind is allowed to generate lift (similar to sticking your hand out of the moving car window).

Now looking at this graph this is NOT happening for +ve AoA... but does seem to be happening for -ve AoA....

I think something needs looking at here...
